APPLICATIONS  //  BY VERTICAL

Power Profiles for the Operations That Build Tomorrow.

Six verticals. Six load profiles. Six code frameworks. This is the engineering reference where refinery operators, mine superintendents, data-center facility leads, and grid planners find the generator and microgrid configuration that matches their duty cycle, runtime window, and governing regulation. Every reference points to a single, written deliverable: a no-cost Site Assessment staffed by one senior engineer end-to-end.

APPLICATION MATRIX  //  6 VERTICALS

Six Verticals, Six Written Deployments.

Each row is an anonymous deployable reference: capacity, runtime, governing code, and the single CTA that scopes a project of your size. Pick the vertical that matches your load profile. If the duty cycle does not fit any of the six rows below, request an engineering call — the seventh vertical will likely start there.

All capacity ranges are nominal continuous, ambient 40°C, altitude ≤ 1,000 m. Higher-altitude or higher-ambient sites are derated during the Site Assessment. Cross-mountain or remote deployments drawn from /capabilities/ typically require a parallel battery energy storage system (BESS) for spinning reserve and step-load mitigation.

UTILITY GUIDE  //  WHICH VERTICAL ARE YOU?

Find the Vertical That Matches Your Load Profile.

If your project sits between the named verticals, use the duty-cycle filter below to land on the right application card and the right spec sheet. Every duty profile has a primary vertical owner at WesCorp; cross-vertical assemblies (e.g., a manufacturing facility behind a utility substation) are scoped jointly.

Prime Power

Site operates off-grid or in an area with grid availability < 80% of the year. Typical load factors 65–90%, 8,760 h/yr.

Routes toMining & remote O&G

Why: continuous-duty profiles are tuned for diesel-runtime minimums before hybrid dispatch takes over. Battery-first off-grid microgrids land here.

Backup / Emergency

Site carries grid power as primary; genset enters on utility outage, ATS-controlled, tested weekly.

Routes toHealthcare · Data Centers

Why: 4-second block-load acceptance and 96-hour fuel autonomy are the binding constraints — these live on the NFPA 110 Type 10 row.

Peak Shaving

Site dispatches genset for 2–6 hours per day to reduce demand-charge exposure or local distribution congestion.

Routes toManufacturing · Utilities

Why: hybrid paralleling with BESS smooths the dispatch envelope; utilities layer grid-services capability on top of the same skid.

Behind-the-Meter Hybrid

Site integrates genset with on-site PV, BESS, and facility load. Multiple stakeholders: facility, EPC, and utility.

Routes toManufacturing · Data Centers · Mining

Why: this is the most common deployment profile since 2022 — the proprietary hybrid controller is engineered to optimize the genset dispatch against the load and renewable split.

Grid Services / Black-Start

Asset provides substation black-start, spinning reserve, or utility-grade grid-forming operation.

Routes toUtilities

Why: NERC PRC-005 maintenance programs and IEEE 1547 interop are mandatory — the utility row in the matrix above is the only one with this scope.

Process Continuity / Black-Start

Refinery, plant, or process line cannot interrupt: gas turbines, drives, pumps, or compressors must ride-through or restart unattended.

Routes toOil & Gas · Manufacturing

Why: sour-service skids, 72-hour fuel resilience, and API 2350 tank-farm integration live here — the O&G row carries the binding code set.

CODE & STANDARDS  //  ENGINEER NOTE

“Every PowerCore-Series genset shipped since 2019 is built to satisfy NFPA 110 Type 10 with 4-second block-load acceptance, IEEE 1547-2018 interconnection for behind-the-meter and utility applications, IEC 61850 substation-level communication, and EPA Tier 4 Final emissions with aftertreatment integrated — not bolted on. The same line carries UL 2200 listing and ISO 8528-5 Performance Class G3 transient response. These are verified by CSA Group every 90 days, on the production floor, not on a marketing deck. A buyer who pulls the certificate serial number will find it on file at the manufacturer.”
