Load & Power Studies
Short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash, load-flow, and harmonic analyses executed in ETAP and SKM. Deliverables include stamped one-line diagrams, protective device settings files, and IEEE 1584-compliant arc-flash labels applied to every panel.

From Site Assessment to a Commissioned Power System
Five named phases, each with a defined owner, a defined deliverable, and a defined hand-off point. Typical project cycle: 14 weeks from signed SOW to energized unit.

Phase 01
Site Assessment
A WesCorp field engineer walks the site, documents the existing electrical topology, captures load profiles, and identifies the interconnect point. Output: a stamped feasibility memo with a Class 3 budgetary estimate, delivered within 10 business days of the site visit.

Phase 02
Front-End Engineering (FEED)
A PE-licensed lead engineer authors the basis of design: single-line diagram, equipment sizing, control architecture, and site layout. Issued for review (IFR) documents are walked through in a live engineering review meeting at Houston HQ or via encrypted video.

Phase 03
Fabrication, Pasadena TX
Equipment builds inside the 180,000 sq ft Pasadena assembly facility. Progress photos and FAT milestone dates are pushed to the client through a private project portal every Friday at 16:00 CT. Schedule slips greater than 5 business days trigger an automatic client notification.

Phase 04
Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
Every unit ≥1 MW is witness-tested by the client's engineering team — live, on the Pasadena test floor, via encrypted HD video feed. Step load, transient, and 110% overcapacity runs are documented and counter-signed before the unit ships.

Phase 05
Commissioning & Site Acceptance
WesCorp commissioning engineers mobilize to site, rig the unit, terminate the medium-voltage cabling, and execute the site acceptance test. Operator training is included. The unit is handed over with the 7-Year Uptime Guarantee clock starting at successful SAT.

What is the scope of a WesCorp load study, and which codes does it meet?+
A WesCorp load study includes short-circuit analysis per IEEE 141, protective device coordination per IEEE 242, arc-flash incident energy per IEEE 1584-2018, and load-flow plus harmonic analysis per IEEE 519. Every study is performed in ETAP or SKM by a PE-licensed engineer and delivered with stamped one-line diagrams, protective device settings files, and printed arc-flash labels applied to every panel in the analyzed scope.
Is design work subcontracted, or is everything performed in-house?+
No design work is subcontracted. Every drawing that ships on a WesCorp unit is stamped by one of 84 PE-licensed electrical or mechanical engineers on staff at Houston HQ. We do not engage third-party design firms on any project, regardless of size or schedule pressure. The same engineering team that authored the FEED package also performs the commissioning.
What response-time SLA is written into a WesCorp service contract?+
Standard service contracts carry a 4-hour phone response SLA from 24/7/365 dispatch, with on-site mobilization from the nearest of 9 regional depots. Current trailing-24-month average is 4 hours 12 minutes from ticket open to engineer on-site. Service contracts can be upgraded to a 2-hour SLA with named on-call engineers for mission-critical sites such as data halls and refinery cogen plants.
What is the geographic coverage of the field service network?+
WesCorp operates 9 regional service depots across the Gulf Coast, Mid-Continent, Permian Basin, Appalachian, and Western US regions. International commissioning is performed by US-based engineers mobilized to site, with prior projects executed in 14 countries on four continents. Local-language support is contracted through vetted in-country partners where local presence is required by regulation or project schedule.
What is included in a Site Assessment, and is it paid?+
A Site Assessment is a paid engagement. It includes a 1–2 day on-site visit by a WesCorp field engineer, a topology and load survey, identification of the interconnect point, and a stamped feasibility memo with a Class 3 budgetary estimate delivered within 10 business days. The fee is credited against the FEED package if the project proceeds within 90 days. Site Assessments are scheduled on a 2-week rolling calendar.
