TIER 01 · PRIME POWER DETAIL

Prime Power gensets engineered for remote sites, peak-shaving, and standby duty where every kW must start on the first crank.

The PowerCore-PP family covers the 250 kW to 2.5 MW load band across diesel and natural-gas prime movers. Configurable for 480 V to 13.8 kV service, every unit ships with a factory-mapped control board, on-board paralleling switchgear, and a witnessed live factory acceptance test before crate-out.

Standard Configuration

  • Engine Platforms: Tier 4 Final diesel (CAT 3516, MTU 8V4000, Cummins QSK60) or lean-burn natural gas (Jenbacher J412, MTU 6V4000)
  • Alternator: Marathon, Stamford, or Leroy-Somer — IP23 drip-loop enclosure as standard, IP54 available
  • Controller: WCC-7000 paralleling controller with DNP3 / Modbus / IEC 61850 protocol stack
  • Fuel System: Sub-base UL 142 double-wall tank (8–24 hr runtime) or remote belly tank
  • Emissions Aftertreatment: SCR + DOC + DPF for diesel; oxidation catalyst for gas

TIER 03 · CONTROLLER ARCHITECTURE

The PowerCore-Hybrid controller: diesel dispatch logic refined across 1,200+ deployed microgrids.

Hybrid is not a genset with a battery bolted on. The PowerCore-Hybrid controller is a proprietary dispatch optimizer — patented, in production since 2018, and continuously improved against field telemetry from every unit shipped. It sequences diesel run-time against battery state-of-charge, load forecast, fuel cost, and emissions targets in 1-second intervals.

How it operates

  1. 01
    Load Forecasting

Predicts the 30-minute load curve from 14-day rolling telemetry, ramp-rate constraints, and the operator's published dispatch schedule.

  2. 02
    Battery Dispatch

Pre-charges the BESS asset during low-load windows; absorbs peak transients with the battery; runs the diesel at its most efficient BSFC point.

  3. 03
    Fuel Optimization

Selects which gensets run, in what order, and at what load percentage to minimize fuel burned per kWh delivered — averaging 38% less than diesel-only across the deployed fleet.

  4. 04
    Watch-Test Reporting

Logs every dispatch decision; pushes a daily performance report to the operator; flags deviations from contract before they trigger an alarm.

Why hybrid beats parallel diesel

Two 2 MW diesel gensets running in parallel can hold a 3 MW peak — but they burn fuel continuously, even at 30% load, and they rack up run-hours on the engines that shorten overhaul intervals. A single 2 MW diesel + 1.5 MW BESS holds the same peak, runs the engine at its sweet spot, and burns up to 38% less fuel per kWh delivered. The math is the same on a refinery island, a data hall, a copper mine, or a remote village.

NEXT STEP · 30-MINUTE SCOPING CALL

Specify a system in 30 minutes. Bring your load profile, we'll bring the engineering.

A WesCorp applications engineer — all 84 hold active PE licenses in U.S. jurisdictions — will size the system against your load profile, fuel logistics, emissions jurisdiction, and interconnect requirements. You leave the call with a preliminary one-line diagram, a budgetary kW figure, and an honest read on whether a PowerCore-Series unit is right for your site.

  • Proposal in 10 business days — including witnessed FAT scheduling.
  • Fixed-price contract — no allowances, no open POs on the engine or alternator.
  • Financing term sheet on request — WesCorp Capital, up to 84 months.
